The combined experience of our partners, working as Counsellors and as a Hypnotherapist, have found that there are many questions relating to treatment sessions and approach… Some are listed below, but of course the list is by no means endless. Other enquiries can be addressed prior to treatment by telephone or e-mail.

Counselling:
Q. How long do counselling sessions last?
A. Sessions are based on a counselling hour which is 50 minutes. The first session will explore if counselling may be indicated. An initial contract of 6 sessions will be offered, with ongoing review.

Q. Will my sessions be confidential?

A. Counselling sessions are confidential, with the exception of if you or another individual becomes at risk of harm. In this situation other relevant services will be contacted/informed.

Q. Will Counsellors be available if an individual reaches crisis stage?

A. Counsellors will be available at arranged times or session. At assessment stage, clients will be given a list of services/agencies within the local area such as the Samaritans, local mental health services and GPs, who they may contact if a crisis occurs.

Q.What qualifications are required for Counsellors?

A. All counsellors are qualified to the BACP. Requirements. (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists)

 

Hypnotherapy:

Q. How does Hypnotherapy work?

A. First of all it requires the client to be guided into of deep physical and mental relaxation which reduces stress and tension. In this relaxed state we are more open to change and transformation. During Hypnotherapy the client will be aware of their surroundings and can choose to come out of hypnosis at any time. You will be able to speak and move and you will be in full control of what is happening to you. At the end of the session you will be gently returned to the normal waking state…

Q. Can anyone be hypnotised?

A. People experience different level of trance (Deep relaxation) for most purposes a light trance is sufficient for Hypnotherapy to be effective.

Q. How many treatments will I need?

A. In the initial consultation the presenting issue and number of recommended sessions will be discussed and agreed. For most issues at least 3 to 4 treatments are required.
